Lake & Safety
- A valid boat insurance certificate must be held for the full period of the Club year. If the boat is to remain on the water this must include mooring cover. The certificate must be shown and recorded by the club safety officer before the boat is used on the lake.
- No person may drive or partake in watersports whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No person shall drive a boat on the Lake unless he/she is a full Club member (excludes Social & Associate members). Ideally the driver should hold a British Water Ski ‘Ski Boat Driver Award’ (SBDA); except where the person is under the tuition.
- All drivers must be assessed by the safety officer or a member of the committee before they are free to use the lake.
- No Club member shall drive a boat on the Lake under 14 years of age; between 14 and 16 years of age they must be accompanied by and under the tuition of a qualified SBDA holder.
- All boats must be fitted with an automatic cut out device which must be used at all times if a second competent boat handler is not onboard.
- One boat is permitted in use on the Lake at any one time, other than at times of Club events under direction of the committee.
- Boats must keep away from wildlife and keep an appropriate distance from the fishermen.
- Children under 14 years of age must wear a buoyancy aid at all times when in or on the Lake.
- A boat towing a skier should be accompanied where ever practicable by a competent observer aged 14+. If an observer is not present a mobile phone must be kept in the boat.

- No person shall pass over the jump unless he/she has received qualified instruction, and then only if wearing jump skis, helmet and buoyancy aid.

- All members shall moor their boat in the Marina berths provided when not in use.
- Strict boat rotation (clockwise) will operate at all times to ensure equal and maximum use of the water, especially at busy times. Unless the next skier and boat are ready for immediate ‘departure’ when their slot is available, it shall pass directly to the next boat that is ready. The clockwise rotation will continue thereafter and the skier who missed their ‘turn’ will have to wait for the next rotation.
- A maximum of 6 passes (3 circuits) or ten minutes which ever is the lesser shall be taken at any time, unless no other boats / skiers are waiting.
- Any member introducing a skiing guest to the Club is responsible for payment of the applicable ‘Guest Ski Fee’ and completion of an entry in the ‘Day Visitor’ register. After Five consecutive visits, that member must seek full membership in his/her own right.
- It is the duty of all members to identify, mark and report to any Committee member any hazard in or around the Lake that could cause accident, and where practicable, remove such object to a place of safety.
- Any buoys knocked off the slalom course must be retrieved immediately and re-fitted or returned to a committee member. Damaged buoys should be replaced like for like.
- When not skiing the slalom course the boat driver should tow the skier such that they do not cross or enter the course.
- During busy periods boats should not enter the marina area at speed or to turn in the marina prior to another run up the lake. In addition skiers should be dropped prior to the first jetty and they should egress by the path provided.
