General
- Members inviting guests to the Club are responsible at all times for their conduct in compliance of the Constitution and Bylaws.
- Any key issued in pursuance of Club membership that provides access to any part of the Club or its precincts remains the property of the Club at all times, and must be surrendered on cessation of membership. No member shall give or loan, or duplicate for issue to any person, any such Club key.
- Any accidental or other damage caused to Club equipment or facility must be reported to the Safety Officer or a Committee member at the earliest opportunity.
- Vehicles, boat trailers or other articles owned by members or their guests shall not be placed in any position where they are likely to cause danger or inconvenience to any other member.
- Vehicles shall not travel in excess of 10 miles per hour anywhere within the Club precincts, this applies to members and their guests at all times.
- Any member, their guest or other person invited to the Club shall not pitch overnight tents, campers or touring caravans anywhere other than in designated locations. (Occasional tents may however be pitched for overnight use on the grassed area by prior arrangement only).
- Other than at designated Club events where over night tents, campers or caravans are brought on site, the owner shall pay a daily ‘pitch fee’ to be determined annually at the discretion of the General Committee.
- Members renting a caravan pitch must have the caravan maintained in an efficient working order
- Dogs owned by members shall be kept under control at all times, and the owner is responsible for the immediate removal of any dog faeces caused within club precincts.
- All litter should be taken home.
- Consideration, good manners and common sense are to be used at all times.
Lake & Safety
- A valid boat insurance certificate must be held for the full period of the Club year. If the boat is to remain on the water this must include mooring cover. The certificate must be shown and recorded by the club safety officer before the boat is used on the lake.
- No person may drive or partake in watersports whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No person shall drive a boat on the Lake unless he/she is a full Club member (excludes Social & Associate members). Ideally the driver should hold a British Water Ski ‘Ski Boat Driver Award’ (SBDA); except where the person is under the tuition.
- All drivers must be assessed by the safety officer or a member of the committee before they are free to use the lake.
- No Club member shall drive a boat on the Lake under 14 years of age; between 14 and 16 years of age they must be accompanied by and under the tuition of a qualified SBDA holder.
- All boats must be fitted with an automatic cut out device which must be used at all times if a second competent boat handler is not onboard.
- One boat is permitted in use on the Lake at any one time, other than at times of Club events under direction of the committee.
- Boats must keep away from wildlife and keep an appropriate distance from the fishermen.
- Children under 14 years of age must wear a buoyancy aid at all times when in or on the Lake.
- A boat towing a skier should be accompanied where ever practicable by a competent observer aged 14+. If an observer is not present a mobile phone must be kept in the boat.
- No person shall drive a boat or be towed on any apparatus in a manner that places him/her or any other person in danger.
- No person shall pass over the jump unless he/she has received qualified instruction, and then only if wearing jump skis, helmet and buoyancy aid.
- Where a Lake incident occurs that causes injury or damage to any person, the member shall within 24 hours make entry in the Accident Register, and report it to a Committee member.
- Swimming is not permitted in any part of the Lake other than in the designated Marina area.
- Drivers, skiers and observers shall use approved British Water Ski signals on the Lake.
- No member shall operate a boat on the Lake that has not been registered with the Safety Officer, or at any time outside the hours of dawn to dusk.
- No member shall use any vessel other than a ski boat on the Lake, except with the specific consent of the Committee, and never simultaneously. Skiing will always take priority.
- All members shall moor their boat in the Marina berths provided when not in use.
- Strict boat rotation (clockwise) will operate at all times to ensure equal and maximum use of the water, especially at busy times. Unless the next skier and boat are ready for immediate ‘departure’ when their slot is available, it shall pass directly to the next boat that is ready. The clockwise rotation will continue thereafter and the skier who missed their ‘turn’ will have to wait for the next rotation.
- A maximum of 6 passes (3 circuits) or ten minutes which ever is the lesser shall be taken at any time, unless no other boats / skiers are waiting.
- Any member introducing a skiing guest to the Club is responsible for payment of the applicable ‘Guest Ski Fee’ and completion of an entry in the ‘Day Visitor’ register. After Five consecutive visits, that member must seek full membership in his/her own right.
- It is the duty of all members to identify, mark and report to any Committee member any hazard in or around the Lake that could cause accident, and where practicable, remove such object to a place of safety.
- Any buoys knocked off the slalom course must be retrieved immediately and re-fitted or returned to a committee member. Damaged buoys should be replaced like for like.
- When not skiing the slalom course the boat driver should tow the skier such that they do not cross or enter the course.
- During busy periods boats should not enter the marina area at speed or to turn in the marina prior to another run up the lake. In addition skiers should be dropped prior to the first jetty and they should egress by the path provided.
Caravan
No caravan or boat may be left unattended at the club site. - Caravans and boats may only be left on site once a rota is in operation. The start and end dates of this rota will be agreed between the committee and the members.
- All caravans must have a suitable anti theft device or have the wheels removed
Caravans must be maintained in good condition. - Any caravan left at the club must have appropriate insurance or a letter waiving responsibility of the CWSWBC in the event of theft or damage.
- No building work is to be carried out or flora and fauna damaged/ removed with out the consent of the committee.
- At least two separate caravans must support the rota on each night, a night on the rota starts at 6pm and finishes at 8am.
- The number and location of caravan pitches will be determined by the committee.
- No chemical toilets are to be emptied on site
